FAQ
What is MDF box?
MDF box is a packaging container made from Medium-Density Fiberboard, characterized by uniform density, a smooth surface, and excellent workability. It is widely used for high-end product packaging and gift boxes.
Why is MDF more eco-friendly?
MDF is produced using recycled wood fibers, reducing the consumption of natural timber. It is also recyclable and biodegradable, aligning with sustainable packaging trends.
Can MDF boxes be customized?
Yes! We support customization in size, shape, and thickness. The surface can be printed, laminated, painted, or laser-engraved to meet your branding needs.
What finishing techniques are available for MDF boxes?
Common techniques include:
Surface treatments: Lamination, UV printing, foil stamping, matte/gloss varnish
Structural techniques: Grooving, cut-outs, magnetic closures, interior lining
Functional treatments: Waterproof coatings, moisture-resistant finishes.
Are MDF boxes waterproof?
Standard MDF boxes are not waterproof, but water resistance can be achieved by adding sealants or applying surface films (e.g., PP coating), making them suitable for short-term humid environments.
What factors affect the price of MDF boxes?
Pricing depends on dimensions, thickness, customization (printing/coatings), order quantity, and additional treatments (e.g., waterproofing). Larger orders typically reduce unit costs.
What are the common uses of MDF boxes?
They are ideal for:
Luxury packaging (perfume, jewelry, cosmetics, electronics, tea)
Gift boxes and retail displays
Protective cases for fragile items
What is the lifespan of MDF board?
The lifespan of MDF board varies depending on usage conditions, but typically ranges from 5-10 years for furniture applications in normal indoor environments. With proper care and minimal exposure to moisture, MDF can last longer.
Is MDF banned in America?
No. MDF is not banned in America. The EPA enacted the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act to limit emissions, but MDF that meets these standards is legal and widely available.
Is MDF box ruined if it gets wet?
Waterproof-treated MDF box offers improved moisture resistance but isn't fully waterproof. Brief exposure to light moisture may not cause immediate damage, but prolonged wetness or soaking will still lead to swelling, warping and structural weakening.
