Clothing packaging refers to the general name of specific containers, materials, and accessories used to protect the appearance and quality of clothing products and facilitate the identification, sale, and use of clothing products in the process of transportation, storage, and sales of clothing products. Clothing transportation packaging, namely clothing outer packaging, is mainly used to protect and prevent “goods damage” and “goods shortage”.

Clothing packaging has the following functions:

1. Protection function

Packaging can effectively protect the shape and quality of clothing and maintain its use-value. For example, it can avoid the appearance of clothes affected by pollution and damage; It can prevent the erosion of microorganisms and pests.

2. Convenience function

The packaging is convenient for transportation, loading, unloading, and storage, and convenient for consumers to carry and use.

3. Publicity and guidance function

Packaging can convey information, introduce goods, and guide consumption. To some extent, the packaging is a product manual, a shopping guide, and a consumption guide.

4. Beautification and promotion functions

High-quality and fashionable clothes with novel, lively and colorful outer packaging can directly arouse the interest and love of consumers, play the role of “silent salesman”, and meet the aesthetic psychological requirements of consumers at the same time.

The marks on the transportation package of clothing can be divided into three types according to their purposes:

Clothing transportation label. A clothing transportation label, also known as a shipping mark, is usually composed of a simple geometric figure and some letters, numbers, and simple words. Its main contents include:

-Name or code of destination;

-Code of consignee and consignor;

-Part number, batch number. In addition, the content of the contract includes the number of origins, the volume, and the license of transportation. The contents of clothing transportation labels vary in complexity and simplicity, which shall be agreed upon by the buyer and the seller according to the characteristics and specific requirements of clothing.

Clothing indicative signs. Clothing indicative signs remind people of matters needing attention in the process of clothing loading, unloading, transportation and storage. Generally, they are marked on clothing packaging with simple and eye-catching graphics and words, so some people call them attention signs.

Clothing warning signs. Clothing warning signs are also known as dangerous clothing packaging signs. When the clothing with requirements of flame-proof, waterproof, moisture-proof, moisture-proof, and antifouling is installed in the transportation package of clothing, various protective signs must be marked on the transportation package to indicate warning, to facilitate the loading and unloading, transportation, and store personnel to take corresponding protective measures according to the characteristics of clothing and protect the integrity of clothing

If it is specified that the transportation and packaging of clothing shall be carried out according to the requirements of the buyer, it can be divided into packing and hanging cabinets.

Box packing

In order to facilitate transportation, after the clothes are put into the inner box, they are put into a large box, that is, the outer box. The outer box is generally a corrugated box. Packing method packing shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the contract. There are mainly the following ways.

-Same color and same code. Clothes of the same color and model are packed into the same carton. For example, red s-size blouses are packed in the same carton, and red m-Size blouses are packed in another carton.

-Mixed code with the same color. Clothes of the same color and different models are packed into the same carton. For example, red s-size and m-Size L-size blouses are packed in the same carton.

-Mixed color and mixed code. Clothes of different colors and models are packed into the same carton. For example, the red s-size blouse and the blue m-Size blouse are packed in the same carton.

The seller must pack according to different codes according to the buyer’s requirements. Generally, the packing is based on the packing list filled by the production department. The packing work is relatively simple, but it requires concentration, otherwise, it is very easy to load by mistake, more or less.

Precautions during packing

-Check whether the tag is hung incorrectly.

-Check the correct size.

-Count the number of pieces to ensure that they are consistent with the packing list.

Generally, there are shipping marks on the outer box. The shipping marks can be divided into positive shipping marks and side shipping marks, mainly indicating the customer’s name, product number, quantity, packing number, color, code division table, net weight, gross weight, delivery place, place of departure, etc. If the shipping mark is specified in the letter of credit or contract, it shall be strictly followed.

Hanging packaging

For clothing, in addition to container packaging and shipping, there is also a way to hang containers, sometimes referred to as hanging shipping. The method is to hang the finished products in the cabinet in the way specified by the customer. This delivery method can save the cost of materials, tape, packing, and manual packing in and out of the province, and keep the appearance of the finished products neat and beautiful so that customers don’t need to spend time sorting after receiving the goods. Usually, clothes prone to wrinkles and high-priced ready-made clothes are shipped in this way.
